12th June, 19.00 – 21.00

Kino Šiška, Trg prekomorskih brigad 3

In April 2017, the public learned about the attacks on gays in Chechnya. They are being prosecuted, locked up in secret prisons, brutally tortured and murdered by the police. International and in some aspects also Slovenian civil public reacted by launching petitions, appeals and organising protests. But that is not enough! The situation in Chechnya is only the peak of the iceberg, that is why we will address the wider context of homophobia and violence in Russia.

The crisis situation, the reasons for the escalation of pogroms and political solutions will be discussed with Simona Muršec and a Russian activist. The discussion will be moderated by Olena Semenova.

Event will be in Russian and English language only.
