Empowering Change: Introducing Three New Tools for Activists by LGBTIQ+ Youth

14. Dec. 2023

We are thrilled to unveil a transformative initiative that embodies the spirit of empowerment, innovation, and advocacy. Tools were created by a youth group within the project “Youth Voices for Social Change,” implemented by the Ljubljana Pride Association and Lesbian Organisation LORI from Rijeka, Croatia.

In the pursuit of amplifying voices that often go unheard, the youth group has crafted three powerful tools designed to empower (other young) activists and advocate change.

Explore the Tools:

Queer Activist Calendar

Queer Activist Calendar is a tool meant for people who want to educate themselves on queer and human rights topics and take a first step towards activism. It includes important LGBTIQ+ and other human rights-related international days as well as information about them.

By scanning the QR code below, you can add the Queer activists calendar directly to your Google Calendar. Simply click “Add” once it opens, and you will have it available.

Volunteers and Activists Basic Handbook

The handbook is a great tool for volunteers and activists, and it includes information on what are the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and activists, how they can contribute to their own and others’ sense of security, and how they can leave an important footprint as part of a community.

The Safe Space Guidebook for Professors

Mental health is extremely important to every person’s proper functioning. For a young LGBTIQ+ person, school is, in addition to family, the place where they spend most of their time. School can be overwhelming to anyone attending, and as educators, our goal should be to strive for a comfortable and inclusive space for anyone in our care. This guidebook provides insight into what steps one can take to make their teaching ground feel better for students.

We invite you to use the tools freely and/or get inspired to make some of your own!
