The number of HIV positive/aids diagnosis has increased significantly during the past few years. The most vulnerable group is men, who have sex with men (MSM). Same also applies for some sexual transmitted diseases (STDs). The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, intersexual and the queer community (LGBTIQ) is responding by closing ranks and by joining forces with the professionals, the Ministry of Health and with the academic sphere in order to fight this pandemic with targeted prevention programmes. This year with special vigor.
Društvo parade ponosa cordially invites You to the Charity Gala Evening, which will be held on Tuesday, 23rd June 2009 at 19.00 in Festivalna Dvorana at Vilharjeva 11 in Ljubljana.
 The Charity Ball belongs is different kind of joint fight. We fight AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases with joy for life! We will twirl to the sounds of the waltz, rumba, foxtrot, samba, tango and other dances. The charity auction will offer artistic creations from well and not so well known artists, and the evening will end with a sweet surprise. All funds raised with this Charity Gala Evening, including the entrance fee (€10) will go to the HIV/aids and STD prevention programmes for MSM (testing for sexually transmitted diseases for those who are afraid to get tested with the referral because of homophobia, especially outside the capital city where free anonymous testing is not available; vaccination against some STPs for the socially endangered MSM, etc).
We are not the problem, we are a part of the solution! You can be a part of the solution as well.
