Wednesday, 24th June
18.00, Cultural center Q/Club Monokel, round table: Homosexuality in Schools

Why is it necessary to know how Prešeren yearned for his Juliette in order to understand him, while Lord Alfred Douglas was only a matter of privacy when understanding Oscar Wilde? Why did 34% (from 443 people asked) of the people who participated in a study conducted by the Peace Institute in 2003 say that they did not talk about homosexuality is primary and secondary schools? Why can parents prohibit educational workshops in schools if they deal with homosexuality? Why can principles so easily ignore the needs and wishes of homosexually orientated students? Which subject should deal with homosexuality? Sex education (which doesn’t exist anyway)? Ethics and morality? Sociology? Biology? We will be dealing with this kind of questions together with mag. Ana Sobočan, dr. Metka Mencin Čeplak and Maja Pan. Come.
