  • Ljubljana Pride: How it all began

    Mestna galerija

"June 8, 2001. On June 8, the warden of the "Cafe Galerija" bar in the Ljubljana City Gallery, which is owned by the City of Ljubljana, bans gay poets Brane Mozetič and Jean Paul Daoust from entering. Explain to them that "we should get used to the fact that the bar is no longer for 'people like that'". Every Friday since then, there has been a protest drinking of mineral water in the bar - protesters drink mineral water as slowly as possible and thus reduce the profit of the bar owner. . . . . We do not live[...]

  • Pride Fundraiser: Lucka Kuhna

Concert Lucka Kuhna has been playing since May 2011, when some teachers at the Waldorf School Ljubljana decided at the prom that their band would not only be a one-day prom band, but would continue to play together. The band took its name from the punk song of the same name played that evening. But least of all because it operates in the former building of the People's Kitchen: the "light kitchen" is light mainly because it is open to all people, regardless of musical (ignorance) - that they only have the joy of playing, and because it is open[...]

  • Pride Fundraiser: LiveStream Concert – Wolf behind her eyes

You are invited to our online Pride Fundraiser event with Wolf behind her eyes! Since it looks like we won't be able to dance with you at live music events for a while, we decided to take the party online. The Wolf Behind Her Eyes performed on the Pride stage for the first time last year, but they also have previous experience performing at Pride events. As they were unfairly showered from the stage last year, this time we will perform the concert in a safe place in co-production with Channel Zero. You can watch the event ONLINE on the[...]

  • Online discussion and exhibition viewing: Visualising the Lives of LGBTIQ Roma

    FB profil: @LjubljanaPride

Organised by: Ljubljana Pride Association Language: English Visualising the Lives of LGBTIQ Roma is a group photo exhibition showing the too often invisible lived experiences of people at the intersection of LGBTIQ+ and Roma identities. It was created through a series of workshops that were part of a postdoctoral project of dr. Lucie Fremlova, in collaboration with diverse LGBTIQ+ Roma participants. Through their works, the authors not only offer an insight into their lives, but also demonstrate how they want to be represented. Because we are unable to host the exhibition in person this year due to epidemiologic circumstances, we[...]

  • Workshop: Activist Tea Party

Organised by: Ljubljana Pride Association Language: Slovene   Solidarity is a concept that is often close to the hearts of activists, but rarely gets as much attention as it deserves. How do we live and work in solidarity? Do we know how to translate solidarity externally really well and successfully, through our communities and social circles to our fellow human rights activists?   With the above questions in mind, we invite you to a tea party, where there will be a special guest, Activism, who will be discussing with the other guest, Solidarity. We will mix our own activist experiences[...]
