SUMMARY:Dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children
DESCRIPTION:Dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children\nDiscussion\n________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene. \nThe medical care of intersex children and infants has been the subject of much criticism and change over the last ten years. We still know very little about what goes on in the decision-making processes between parents and doctors. The aim of this event is to open a debate on the practice of medical decision-making for intersex children and infants between doctors\, parents and intersex children in European countries\, with a focus on Slovenia. Martin Gramc\, a young researcher at the University of Zurich\, will present early findings from their research and address the key medical and legal dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children. The discussion will be led by Katja Sešek. \nThe event is organised in collaboration with the University of Zurich and supported by the Horizon 2020 project. \n_____ \nMartin Gramc is currently a PhD candidate at Institute of Biomedical Ethics and the History of Medicine at the University of Zürich and is recipient of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship. They are researching the collaboration and ethics of multidisciplinary health care teams working in the field of intersex care. They hold a master’s degree in sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences\, University of Ljubljana. Before joining the Institute for Biomedical Ethics and the History of Medicine Martin worked as research assistant for the Liverpool John Moores University\, University of Ljubljana\, and Peace Institute (Slovenia).

SUMMARY:Antiracist Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Antiracist Book Club\n________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene. \nThe anti-racist book club at the Ljubljana Pride Association was organized as a place of reflection on how to address\, as a primarily white organization\, the topics of anti-racism. We asked ourselves how to talk about anti-racism (do we even have the right to talk about it?) and how to also responsibly act in a supportive way. How can we position ourselves – both as individuals and on the organizational level? We were interested in how to get relevant information and\, above all\, in what way can our team learn about anti-racism. We started reading books like The New Age of Empire by Kehinde Andrews\, Why We Matter? by Emilie Roig and Girl\, Woman\, Other by Bernardine Evaristo\, and had long debates about them. At the festival\, we are opening our anti-racist book club to all of you. We will focus on Manifesto by before mentioned Bernardine Evaristo and Feminism Is for Everybody by bell hooks\, which recently got Slovenian translations by Katja Zakrajšek and Ana Makuc.
