SUMMARY:Dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children
DESCRIPTION:Dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children\nDiscussion\n________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene. \nThe medical care of intersex children and infants has been the subject of much criticism and change over the last ten years. We still know very little about what goes on in the decision-making processes between parents and doctors. The aim of this event is to open a debate on the practice of medical decision-making for intersex children and infants between doctors\, parents and intersex children in European countries\, with a focus on Slovenia. Martin Gramc\, a young researcher at the University of Zurich\, will present early findings from their research and address the key medical and legal dilemmas related to the medical care of intersex children. The discussion will be led by Katja Sešek. \nThe event is organised in collaboration with the University of Zurich and supported by the Horizon 2020 project. \n_____ \nMartin Gramc is currently a PhD candidate at Institute of Biomedical Ethics and the History of Medicine at the University of Zürich and is recipient of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship. They are researching the collaboration and ethics of multidisciplinary health care teams working in the field of intersex care. They hold a master’s degree in sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences\, University of Ljubljana. Before joining the Institute for Biomedical Ethics and the History of Medicine Martin worked as research assistant for the Liverpool John Moores University\, University of Ljubljana\, and Peace Institute (Slovenia).

SUMMARY:The Flag
DESCRIPTION:The Flag\nDocumentary prepremiere\n________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene\, documentary with English subtitles \nOrganised by: KSZ Sagar in collaboration with Ljubljana Pride Association and KUD Javk \nEvery year in Ljubljana\, during the Pride Parade\, we hang our largest rainbow flag from the Ljubljana castle tower. The rainbow flag was created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker. His intention was to give the LGBTIQ+ community a positive symbolic representation\, and his wish was for the flag to grow with the community. In 2017\, under the slogan More colours\, more pride\, in addition to the basic six\, two more colours were added to it. Each colour symbolizes a different component of the LGBTIQ+ identity\, all of which illustrate the diversity of the LGBTIQ+ community. \nIn the documentary\, the main role is played by the eight colours that make up the rainbow flag\, so the film shows eight individuals. Through their personal stories\, it focuses on the attitude of LGBTIQ+ people towards the rainbow flag and its meaning for individuals and society. What does each colour represent to them? What colour dominates their life? In what way does one identify with the rainbow flag or with the flag as a symbol in general? After the prepremiere\, director and screenwriter Miha Mohorič\, co-screenwriter Petra Hrovatin and the performers will share their thoughts on the making of the documentary\, followed by a luxurious gathering with drinks\, a photo corner and other flamboyant activities.  \n  \nThe Flag\, documentary\, 60 min \nDirector: Miha Mohorič\nScreenplay: Miha Mohorič\, Petra Hrovatin\nCamera: Miha Mohorič\, Petra Hrovatin\nEditing: Petra Hrovatin\, Miha Mohorič\nProduction: Sagar collective\nCo-producers: Ljubljana Pride Association\, KUD Javk\nThe film is co-financed by the Slovenian Film Center.

SUMMARY:SQVOT Living Room – festival edition
DESCRIPTION:SQVOT Living Room – festival edition\nCommunity Event\n________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene and English. \nOrganised by: Ljubljana Pride Association in cooperation with Škuc association \nVisibility of LGBTIQ+ people is of the utmost importance both for individuals and for the community as a whole\, and being a part of the LGBTIQ+ community can give us a sense of belonging\, it feels like we are seen\, like we are stronger together. Having similar challenges and experiences makes it easier for us to support and encourage each other\, which is especially important when we feel lonely and overlooked.\nThe community events that we organise at SQVOT serve as visible symbols of our existence and the importance of community for the individual. The same goes for the festival version of our SQVOT Living Room\, where we will be making products in the colours of the community to support our visibility\, while reflecting on what visibility and belonging to the LGBTIQ+ community mean to each and every one of us. We will translate our thoughts and creativity into small indicators of our community\, which we will then proudly wear to the Parade a week later.

SUMMARY:Press conference
DESCRIPTION:Diverse communities\, one fight\nPress conference________________\nEvent will be held in Slovene. \nAt the press conference\, we will present the political message and the programme of the 2023 Ljubljana Pride Festival. This year\, the festival will explore the topic of international LGBTIQ+ solidarity through the prism of resilience\, survival strategies and mutual support. LGBTIQ+ community is diverse and must live and survive during wars\, poverty\, oppression and at the edge of societal existence. And this is what unites us in a common fight.  \nThe slogan Diverse communities\, one fight thus encompasses the diversity of the LGBTIQ+ communities\, identities and struggles\, as well as calls for international solidarity\, mutual support and a common fight for human dignity everywhere in the world. Through a diverse range of cultural and political events accompanied by local and international guests\, the festival brings a unique perspective on the common struggle for human rights of LGBTIQ+ people. In the fight for freedom\, equality\, diversity\, a safe future\, empowerment and inclusion\, we are led by the hope and awareness that we are stronger together.
