DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, October 14\, 2025\, the Ljubljana Pride is organizing an expert consultation of LGBTIQ+ youth for the new Youth Strategy of the City of Ljubljana (MOL) 2026–2035\, which will take place between 9:00 and 15:30 in the Red Hall of the City Hall. \nThe event will be held in the Slovenian language. \nApplication form: Application for the LGBTIQ+ youth consultation for the new Youth Strategy of the Municipality of Ljubljana 2026-2035 \nApplication deadline: October 10\, 2025 \nThe year 2025 is the year of the conclusion of the current Youth Strategy of the City of Ljubljana and at the same time the time when a new strategy for the period 2026–2035 is being prepared. SUMMARY:Job shadowing in Lithuania
DESCRIPTION:Three members of our team will participate in a one-week job shadowing in Lithuania in October\, at our partner organisation\, the Tolerant Youth Association (TJA). This activity represents the next step in our collaboration with TJA\, with whom we have previously worked on the Rainbow Peer Forces project\, within which both organisations began working with the concept of peer education.  During the activity\, we will discuss with the TJA team new possibilities for collaboration\, exchange our experiences with peer educators\, and assess the impact of this work some time after the conclusion of the project. As part of the activity overlaps with the ILGA-Europe Annual Conference\, locally organised by TJA (while Društvo Parada ponosa fulfilled this role for the ILGA conference in 2023 in Ljubljana)\, we will also discuss with their team the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ volunteers in such events\, with a focus on the learning element of the volunteer experience.  We look forward to deepening our collaboration with our partners in Lithuania!  The activity is funded by the European Union.

DESCRIPTION:Members of the Ljubljana Pride Association team will participate in this year’s ILGA-Europe Annual Conference which will be held in Vilnius between 22nd and 26th October. \nThe ILGA-Europe Annual Conference is Europe’s largest LGBTI conference\, bringing together activists and allies from across Europe and Central Asia to discuss\, strategise\, and strengthen the movement. \nThis year’s theme is Face Forward with a statement: \nWe’re going through challenges unlike anything we’ve seen before\, and so are many other social movements. The world is shifting beneath our feet – democracy is unravelling even in places we thought were stable\, funding streams are drying up\, and anti-rights forces are more emboldened and aggressive than ever. Governments are rolling back fundamental rights\, eroding media freedom\, freedom of assembly\, and\, critically\, the ability of our organisations to operate. Our communities – especially trans people\, intersex people\, racialised people\, and refugees – are facing unprecedented hostility and are further pushed into the centre of divisive public debates. Political hostility is growing\, while institutions and allies we have counted on are retreating or disappearing entirely. \nThe world is changing\, and so are we.

DESCRIPTION:Access to safe and adequate housing is a fundamental human right\, yet in Ljubljana it is increasingly becoming a privilege. Rents are unreasonably high\, apartments are often inadequate\, and rental conditions exploitative. Meanwhile\, young people and marginalized communities are expected to remain productive\, adaptable\, and keep a smile on their face.\n\nDay after the International Day of Homelessness\, we are joining forces with Pritličje and Društvo Štikla to present a drag show that casts light on the housing crisis through art. Drag performers\, many of whom know these struggles from personal experience\, will confront the absurdity of today’s housing conditions with humor and a critical point of view – showing what it really means to survive when having a home is anything but guaranteed.\n\nOn stage:\n\n 	Karmen Daš – the evening’s hostess\, who knows how to get by without a couch\n 	Prof. Pederik Kunt – with a PhD in terrifying rental contracts\n 	Miss Sin Kunt – playful and defiant\, laughing at skyrocketing rents\n 	Johnny Smash – the best neighbor you never had\n\n 11 October\, 19:00\, Pritličje (outdoors between the tables; indoors in case of rain)\n\nThis event is an artistic protest against the absurdities that shape our living conditions. Drag does not only entertain – it exposes the housing crisis as more than an individual issue. It is a deeply social and political problem\, and one we must speak about loudly and collectively.

DESCRIPTION:This September\, Ljubljana Pride will host an International Training Seminar on the topic of LGBTIQ+ youth homelessness and mental health! \nThe seminar will bring together 25 social workers\, youth workers\, psychologists\, mental health professionals\, shelter staff and volunteers from Slovenia\, France and Poland\, who come into contact with LGBTIQ+ youth who are experiencing homelessness and housing exclusion through their work.  \nThe programme will focus on international exchange\, training and capacity building\, offering participants opportunities to deepen their skills\, share best practices\, and explore topics related to their work with beneficiaries\, as well as staff and volunteer wellbeing. \nThis seminar is part of the wider project ‘Re-BUILD: Building Understanding and Inclusive Learning for the Development of mental health support’ in partnership with Foundation Le Refuge (FR) and Lambda Warszawa (PL).  \nThe project aims to strengthen LGBTIQ+ shelters across Europe by integrating mental health support for LGBTIQ+ young adults experiencing homelessness through training\, capacity building and awareness raising.  \nCo-funded by the European Union.

SUMMARY:Study Visit and Attendance at the ILGA-Europe Conference in Dublin
DESCRIPTION:Part of the team of Ljubljana Pride Association will take part in a study visit to Ireland from 5 to 11 October. During this time\, we will meet with several organisations: some of which we already collaborate with and would like to further strengthen this cooperation\, some with which we have collaborated in the past and would now like to renew our cooperation\, and some organisations that will be completely new to us. \nThis is particularly important to us\, as some of our publications and approaches\, which we have developed over the years\, have been strongly inspired by Irish experiences. This time\, in addition to youth organisations\, we will therefore focus on meetings with LGBTIQ+ organisations\, visits to youth groups and activities in the field\, as well as establishing and strengthening connections with key stakeholders working in the fields of LGBTIQ+ rights and youth work in Ireland. \nDuring the visit\, we will also attend the annual ILGA-Europe conference\, the largest conference of its kind\, which brings together more than 400 LGBTIQ+ activists every year. This year’s theme\, “Resist and Rise\,” feels particularly relevant to our visit\, as it invites us to reflect on how we can respond to the growing pressures on our movements while also building alliances\, sharing strategies and preparing for the future. \nActivity is funded by the European Union.
