This year\, we’ll be reimagining and recreating elements from this year’s Pride poster – using prepared stencils and adding our own creative twists. 🎨 \nAt the same time\, we’ll be designing and building decorations for the Pride truck 🚚\, the moving centerpiece of the parade! We’ll give old totebags and t-shirts a queer makeover with rainbow fabric cut-offs and sew patches printed with slogans onto t-shirts that will be sold on Pride Day 🌈. \nAs always\, you can take your favorite creation home. Materials will be provided\, but feel free to bring more fabric for everyone to use! \nThis workshop will take place on the 9th of May between 1 and 6PM at the Pride Office – Dunajska cesta 10. DESCRIPTION:This August 3rd we are organising an interactive workshop titled “Precarious ways” for the visiting group of our summer youth exchange. The workshop is dedicated to raising awareness about precarity and navigating the job market for young people\, shining a light on the specific circumstances faced by the members of the LGBTIQ+ community within this. \nWe repeat the workshop monthly for local youth as well – follow us on social media and apply as a participant on the next available date\, or spread the word to people who might benefit from it! \nAt the workshop you will learn about: \nhow to identify precarious jobs\, \nworker’s rights\, duties and where to find information about them\, \nhow to recognize discriminatory practices\, draw attention to them and prevent them\, \nhow to write a CV and prepare for a job interview\, \nhow to be self-employed; open your own small business\, pay contributions and taxes… \nand more! \nIf you have any questions\, feel free to contact Evan at evan@‌ljubljanapride.org.

SUMMARY:Youth exchange
DESCRIPTION:The exchange will provide participants with inspiration\, motivation\, and practical skills to continue advocating for LGBTIQ+ rights in their own countries\, as well as information and tools on how to protect themselves from the risks that are often associated with this type of activism. \nParticipants will become familiar with different forms of activism\, with a particular focus on the concept of “in-the-closet” activism. The exchange will place a strong emphasis on community building\, strengthening self-confidence\, empowerment\, and mutual support. \nBy the end of the exchange\, participants will be better equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for self-protection in their local contexts (in relation to their LGBTIQ+ activism)\, will feel less isolated\, and more empowered and inspired to continue their fight.

DESCRIPTION:Are you a queer person who isn’t fully out yet? Do you care about human rights\, dignity and equality for all? Do you want to get involved in LGBTIQ+ activism\, but worry about how the people around you might react? Or are you already active in this space and concerned about burnout? \nAll of this (and probably more) will be on the table at the workshop Activism “in the closet” in Brežice\, on August 7th. Meet like-minded people\, find support and learn something new! And if you already know it all\, this is a great opportunity to share your experiences and advice with other young people. The workshop is open to all LGBTIQ+ people – those just starting out on their path of active citizenship\, as well as those who have already been building communities for a while. \nWe’ll meet on the first floor of MC Brežice at 11.00! We’ll take care of coffee and snacks – you just bring an open mind and a willingness to talk. See you there!

DESCRIPTION:Ljubljana Pride Association is participating in the international training on Sex Education in Youth Work and Education\, which will take place from August 26 to September 2 in Berlin and is organised by our partner organisation\, Loesje e.V. \nThe training is intended for youth workers\, activists\, teachers (and others who work with young people) who wish to expand their knowledge and understanding of sex education. \nIn addition to participants from Slovenia\, the training will also include participants from Germany\, North Macedonia\, Italy\, Cyprus\, Lithuania\, Turkey\, Serbia\, and Spain. \nThe training focuses on: \n\n\nthe importance of sex education and\, specifically\, the concept of consent; \n\n\ndispelling taboos and myths related to sexuality; \n\n\nexchanging knowledge and practices in the field of sex education; \n\n\nfinding creative ways to integrate sex education into youth work and education. \n\n\nFunded by the European Union. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
