DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the next Pride Connects activity\, Queer-EUtopia\, where we will continue the topic and approach of the previous one: imagine how it would look like an utopian society for LGBTIQ+ people. \nHowever\, the ideas that we will discuss will be brand new\, so don’t be afraid to come for the first time! \nThis activity is included in the ‘Pride Connects’ program\, and our main goal is to foster connections among the local LGBTIQ+ youth\, activists and individuals passionate about the political aspects of Pride and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and worldwide\, as well as establish a safer space for all members of the LGBTIQ+ community\, offering a platform for empowerment and support. \nFor ‘Queer-EUtopia’\, we will focus more around the European Union. The activity will consist of making a collage about an European Union in which\, thanks to the political participation of citizens\, an utopian society has been achieved for LGBTIQ+ people by the year 2050. By reflecting on this topic\, we will highlight the importance of the European Parliament Elections in 2024 and the political involvement of the citizens in the fight for LGBTIQ+ rights in a non-formal way. \nThis activity is co-funded by the European Union and by the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth.

SUMMARY:International training: Inclusive Organisations
DESCRIPTION:Between 25th of September and 1st of October\, we are hosting an international training course during which we will further develop a certification scheme for inclusive organizations. \nWhat does that mean? \nAll over Europe\, we have countless organizations\, associations\, institutes\, youth centers\, public offices… that are supposed to be open to all (young) people\, regardless of their personal circumstances\, such as LGBTIQ+ identity\, origin\, skin color… But in practice it turns out that\, unfortunately\, if we just think that we are inclusive for all\, it does not mean that we are actually inclusive for all. \nTogether with international partners from Spain\, Austria and Italy Ljubljana Pride Association is developing a certification scheme for organizations that want to work on becoming (more) inclusive. We are developing both the model itself\, the steps how an organization can join it\, what it needs do\, training modules for organizations\, as well as what organizations get from it… All this and much more is the subject of the training. \nSo\, what will be the result? \nMore on that in October.

SUMMARY:Advocacy training
DESCRIPTION:ADVOCACY? \nWhat exactly is advocacy? How should our association tackle it? What changes are we fighting for that can be achieved through advocacy activities? \nAt Ljubljana Pride Association\, we have invested a lot of effort and work in recent years in strategic development\, professionalization of the organization\, development of new expert programs… now the time has come when we will reach towards the next step – more systematic work for change at the political and legislative level. And of course\, first of all we have to learn new approaches and gain knowledge so that we can really achieve lasting impact and change. \nThus\, between September 20 and 22\, the entire team of the association will embark on a three-day intensive advocacy training. The key achievement we are striving for is the development of the advocacy strategy of the SQVOT program – a program for reducing the consequences of minority stress. \nThe training and strategic development in the field of advocacy is made possible by the financial support of ILGA Europe and its program No One Left Behind.

DESCRIPTION:Na dan 14. 4. 2023 nas bo do letošnje ljubljanske Parade ponosa ločilo le še 64 dni!\n\nVečini udeleženk_cev Parade ponosa 2023 se to verjetno zdi absolutno preveliko število dni\, ki jih loči do največjega skupnostnega dogodka v Sloveniji. Ekipi\, ki organizira Festival Parada ponosa 2023\, pa je to obdobje ravno pravšnja kombinacija navdušenja in panike\, predvsem pa ključni čas priprav.\n\nNa pomladno paradno druženje vabimo razširjeno festivalsko ekipo – vsako entuziastično bitje\, ki nam (tudi) letos želi pomagati izpeljati največji LGBTIQ+ festival v Sloveniji. Na dogodku si bomo predstavile_i program festivala\, se spoznale_i\, podružile_i in si dale_i motivacijo ter inspiracijo za ključna dva meseca priprav pred začetkom festivala.\n\nTa dogodek je vabilo tudi za vse\, ki še niste del paradne ekipe\, vendar si to želite postati. Zato na pijačo in prigrizek posebej lepo vabimo vse\, ki vas zanima prostovoljenje na letošnjem festivalu in Paradi ponosa v Ljubljani.\n\nHvaležne_i bomo\, če se na dogodek najavite s sporočilom na info@ljubljanapride.org\, da vemo\, koliko slanih palčk nabaviti. Če pa vas k nam zanese v zadnjem trenutku ter nepredvideno\, vas vseeno veselo sprejmemo medse.\n\nParadni ekipi bomo nazdravile_i med 16. in 19. uro\, na Dunajski 10 – v štabu Društva Parada ponosa. DESCRIPTION:OPEN CALL FOR UKRAINIAN LGBTIQ+ ARTISTS / LJUBLJANA PRIDE’S VISUAL ART EXHIBITION ON INTERNATIONAL QUEER SOLIDARITY\n\nNEW DEADLINE: 26ht of March.\n\nWHAT / WHERE / WHY\nWe are happy to announce we will be hosting an international visual art exhibition on the topic of International Queer Solidarity – Images of resilience and hope. We would like to stimulate reflection\, awareness and realisation of the important role international queer solidarity plays in the lives of LGBTIQ+ people in/from Ukraine during the time of war? We would like to create a space where artistic and cultural expression that provides hope to withstand the harsh realities of war and other oppressions faced by the LGBTIQ+ communities gives us all strength to keep on fighting and builds our collective resilience.\n\nA physical exhibition will be organized during Ljubljana Pride Festival 2023 in June 2023 in the gallery Alkatraz in Ljubljana\, Slovenia. A digital exhibition will be implemented and promoted on social media in the form of a digital gallery and a social media campaign. A reflection panel and workshops with some of the selected artists will be organized as an accompanying programme to the exhibition in order to further raise awareness of the issues.\n\nWHO CAN PARTICIPATE:\nLGBTIQ+ artists from Ukraine (both those living in Ukraine and those who fled due to war) with artworks that represent images of resilience and hope in the harsh realities of war and act for a peaceful future of Ukraine and Europe.\n\nWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:\n\nVisual art of LGBTIQ+ artists about their experience and/or view on international solidarity needed in time of war.\nVisual art that you as artist already created on the topics of the exhibition.\nVisual art that you will create as new\, original art by the end of March 2023\, as long as you can submit a sketch or concept by the end of the application deadline.\nWith visual art we are in particular looking for digital art such as poster art\, digital graphics and or prints; traditional works on canvas; visual art in forms of collage or interdisciplinary works like videos or sound-video installations …\nIn case the art is not digital\, it should be transportable.\n\n\nWHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IF YOU GET SELECTED\n\n200 EUR gross artist fee.\nYour art will be exhibited live at the Ljubljana Pride Festival 2023 exhibition in June 2023 in Ljubljana\, Slovenia and possibly during ILGA Europe annual conference in October 2023.\nYour art will be digitally exhibited and promoted\, with possibility of printed reproduction for a local visibility campaign.\nPossibility of costs covered to visit Ljubljana during the festival and participation at the panel.\n\n\nAPPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS\nTo apply\, fill out the application by 26th of March 2023.\nThe jury that will be selecting the artists consists of:\n→ Iris Pokovec (visual artist\, curator of the exhibition)\n→ Pierra Ravnikar (cultural manager and gallerist)\n→ Ana Čigon (video\, film\, animation and performance artist)\nSelected artists will be notified by 31th March\, via email submitted in the application form.\nEach chosen artist will be contacted individually by Ljubljana Pride to consolidate a written agreement and the logistics of possible transportation.\n\nABOUT LJUBLJANA PRIDE FESTIVAL\nLjubljana Pride Association is the organizer of Ljubljana Pride festival – annual international cultural and political festival of LGBTIQ+ culture with a distinctly political note. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn more about sustainable practices around the world and how they relate to your local community? \nJoin us on Tuesday the 31st of January at Dunajska cesta 10\, from 18:00-20:00! Together we will watch an inspiring documentary to learn more about how different sustainable practices look around the world. We will then discuss how they fit the needs of your local communities and how they could be implemented in them. \nWhy?\nWe want to collect data that will serve as a base for discussions with decision makers that we will organise later this year. DESCRIPTION:As they say\, new year – new me and a new wave of events. In the upcoming series\, we will tackle the topic of stress. What is stress? How does it affect me? How do I cope with it? What is the difference between positive and negative stress? Vesna Štefanec\, SQVOT programme manager and counsellor\, will visit us in our living room to give us knowledge on the topic. Then we will learn how to relax with different breathing techniques and meditate with Leonardo\, a volunteer of the SQVOT programme.\nTogether we will create a safer space at the next SQVOT Living Room event on Monday\, 23 January 2023\, from 5pm to 8pm in Klub Monokel at Metelkova. \nSee you there! \nThe Living Room opens its doors every second Monday at the Monokel club in Ljubljana’s Metelkova district\, where we hang out between 5 and 8 pm. At every meeting there is a person from the SQVOT programme\, who makes the room even safer and has a lot of information about the programme and the services we offer. \nSQVOT Living Room is a place for every young LGBTIQ+ person\, who: \n\nyearns for community!\nwants to address different topics\, spend time among cool folk and meet new friends!\nmisses a safe space where they can spend their free time!\nwants a place to talk about housing exclusion\, mental health\, life and anything else that interests them.\n\nThe event is financed by the European Union.

SUMMARY:Open Call for Entries: Ljubljana Pride’s Visual Art Exhibition on International Queer Solidarity
DESCRIPTION:WHAT / WHERE / WHY\nWe are happy to announce we will be hosting an international visual art exhibition on the topic of International Queer Solidarity – Images of resilience and hope. We would like to stimulate reflection\, awareness and realisation of the important role international queer solidarity plays in the lives of LGBTIQ+ people in most vulnerable situations and places in Europe and the world. How does it reflect on the lives of LGBTIQ+ people in/from Ukraine and LGBTIQ+ people in other struggling and oppressive contexts? We would like to create a space where artistic and cultural expression that provides hope to withstand the harsh realities of war and other oppressions faced by the LGBTIQ+ communities gives us all strength to keep on fighting and builds our collective resilience.\nA physical exhibition will be organized during Ljubljana Pride Festival 2023 in June 2023 in the gallery Alkatraz and the gallery spaces of City Hall in Ljubljana\, Slovenia. A digital exhibition will be implemented and promoted on social media in the form of a digital gallery and a social media campaign. A reflection panel and workshops with some of the selected artists will be organized as an accompanying programme to the exhibition in order to further raise awareness of the issues.\n\nAPPLY HERE\n\nWHO CAN PARTICIPATE:\n>LGBTIQ+ artists from Ukraine with artworks that represent images of resilience and hope in the harsh realities of war and act for a peaceful future of Ukraine and Europe.\n(a minimum 5 out of 20 places are reserved to Ukrainian LGBTIQ+ artists – both those living in Ukraine and those who fled due to war).\n>Artwork of LGBTIQ+ artists from different countries and backgrounds who reflect on concepts of Queer international solidarity\, resilience and hope within very difficult times (for example formal ban of Belgrade Pride\, impossible barriers for LGBTIQ+ people outside of EU to obtain Schengen visas\, energy poverty …).\n\nWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:\n>Visual art of LGBTIQ+ artists about their experience and/or view on international solidarity needed and/or coming from the wider LGBTIQ+ movements.\n>Visual art that you as artist already created on the topics of the exhibition.\n>Visual art that you will create as new\, original art by the end of March 2023\, as long as you can submit a sketch or concept by the end of the application deadline.\n>With visual art we are in particular looking for digital art such as poster art\, digital graphics and or prints; traditional works on canvas; visual art in forms of collage or interdisciplinary works like videos or sound-video installations …\n>In case the art is not digital\, it should be transportable.\n\nWHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IF YOU GET SELECTED\n>200 EUR gross artist fee.\n>Your art will be exhibited live at the Ljubljana Pride Festival 2023 exhibition in June 2023 in Ljubljana\, Slovenia and possibly during ILGA Europe annual conference in October 2023.\n>Your art will be digitally exhibited and promoted\, with possibility of printed reproduction for a local visibility campaign.\n>Possibility of costs covered to visit Ljubljana during the festival and participation at the panel.\n\nAPPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS\n>To apply\, fill out this application by 10th of February 2023\n>The jury that will be selecting the artists consists of:\n→ Iris Pokovec (visual artist\, curator of the exhibition)\n→ Pierra Ravnikar (cultural manager and gallerist)\n→ Ana Čigon (video\, film\, animation and performance artist)\nSelected artists will be notified by 28th February\, via email submitted in the application form.\nEach chosen artist will be contacted individually by Ljubljana Pride to consolidate a written agreement and the logistics of possible transportation.\n\nABOUT LJUBLJANA PRIDE FESTIVAL\nLjubljana Pride Association is the organizer of Ljubljana Pride festival – annual international cultural and political festival of LGBTIQ+ culture with a distinctly political note. Its aim is to break the silence and the suppression of LGBTIQ+ identities\, to occupy public space\, to present the life and work of the LGBTIQ+ community\, and to promote human rights\, equal opportunities and freedom of choice. Each year it unfolds around a certain topic that addresses the current political circumstances and realities of LGBTIQ+ communities. The upcoming festival that will take place in Ljubljana in June 2023 will explore ways on how we can support each other internationally as queer people. DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in the importance of inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people in youth work?  \nDo you want to address the struggles that the community faces in everyday life? \nPlease APPLY HERE: https://forms.gle/NX7nMUu29PD8wnn57 \n  \nWe are looking for 2 participants – youth workers or activists – who will take part in an international training course organised by Loesje Berlin from 26th October to the 4th of November 2022 in the German countryside near Bremen. The project aims to raise awareness about realities that LGBTIQ+ people face and the importance of their inclusion and empowerment. \n  \nLoesje is a collective of people from all around the world that started in the Netherlands. They believe in the power of solidarity and inclusion. By making posters with commentary on current topics\, they aim to help the viewer see things from a new perspective. Loesje Berlin has been an important partner of Ljubljana Pride for years and we are working together on DecontRamination of Hate Speech.
