The rise of worldwide street actions was so big\, it was named the Global protest wave of 2019. Then\, the virus hit and put a stop to one of the key components of street protests: public gatherings. Our realities have changed within days and it seems that social distancing and limitations on public gatherings will be a part of our new normal. This affected many mobilisations but it didn’t stop the people. We adapted\, and daily we are finding new ways of nonviolent and safe protesting. The common denominator is creativity and solidarity and if we look at just Slovenia we can see online support groups (with almost 60.000 members!)\, bike riding\, balcony singing and fundraising collective actions. Let’s explore together how people are protesting here and worldwide and figure out how we will make our voices heard in the future. \nThis Tuesday\, in light of Sundays IDAHOBIT 2020 we invite you to join on Zoom and talk about your experience with the quarantine. Since the visibility of our community is weakened a lot of us have a strong need to reconnect\, to see each other\, to know what is going on in the community. We also understand that being quarantined might limit your ways of communicating- if you do not have enough privacy to be comfortable enough sharing your experience\, you are still very welcome to just join on the call and listen to the others. DESCRIPTION:This year’s IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia\, Biphobia and Transphobia)\, one of the LGBTIQ+ community’s important commemoration days\, embraces the slogan “Break the Silence”. It comes in a strange time full of uncertainties: COVID-19 led to the fact that a lot of Prides and other LGBTIQ+ festivals and events have been canceled or postponed\, consequently resulting in weakening the sense of community and visibility within the LGBTIQ+ community. \nThat’s why it is important more than ever to engage\, mobilise\, show we are here\, we exist and our lives matter and that we will not tolerate the silence! Or\, as it is stated in this years statement: “By all coming together on one global day\, our “noise” will be so loud that all our LGBTQI+ sisters and brothers all over the world who cannot speak up will hear the sound of hope and solidarity.”\nBecause COVID-19 makes it harder for us to take over the streets\, some express their political opinion with the help of street art and graffiti. DESCRIPTION:►Would you like to volunteer at the Pride Parade Festival 2020?\n►Are you interested in seeing behind the scenes of the most visible LGBTIQ+ event in Slovenia?\n►Are you interested in fundraising and/or event management? \nWe will be organising different types of fundraisers and events such as concerts\, parties\, performances\, exhibitions\, brunches\, etc. and so we will be needing your help with gathering ideas for the program\, searching for locations and performances. \n????? ???? ??????? ??? ???????? ??????????:\nyou maybe responsible for communication between everyone involved\, promotion\, distributing flyers and posters\, creating the scene and decorations\, gathering food donations and preparing food\,. During the event you will be preparing the space\, moderating\, performing\, gathering money donations\, and photographing. After it ends you will be cleaning\, counting the money\, editing photos\, and more. You can get involved with all phases of event organisation so if you are interested in this area this is a great opportunity for you to learn and help Ljubljana Pride Association at the same time. \n?Of course\, if you have any creative suggestions of your own\, we’ll be happy to hear them too. 🙂 ? \nIf your answer is yes\, we are inviting you to the first meeting which will take place on Thursday 19th of March at 7pm in Ljubljana Pride office\, Dunajska 10 in Ljubljana. \nAt the coordination meeting\, we will get to know each other\, present the volunteering possibilities\, present the coordinators of fundraising and the volunteering mentor and already start planning the next steps 🙂 Last but not least\, we will give you an insight on this year’s theme and programme of the festival. \nVolunteering will take place in Ljubljana between March and June 2019. \nP.S. DESCRIPTION:Free workshop on addressing hate speech for all who work with young people. \nSign up for the workshop via email info@mczos.si.\nHate culture can be found in all walks of life\, and school and youth environments are no exception. \nAs teachers\, youth workers\, youth leaders\, trainers\, activists and professionals\, we have not only the power but also the responsibility to respond to hate speech among young people. All “jokes”\, comments where young people merely “repeat what they heard at home” or “are not being serious” reinforce the social inequalities emanating from systems of oppression. \nOften\, however\, we cannot respond to hatred because we are concerned about our main responsibility to deliver an activity. Or sometimes\, we just don’t know how. \nThe workshop will address the challenges of recognizing\, addressing and transforming hate speech. \nWe will share and explore strategies for overcoming hate speech through the use of transformative practices designed not only to prevent the use of hate speech in a particular environment\, but to initiate a transformation process to overcome hate. \nThe workshop is for everyone who works with young people. \n Program: \n9:00 Introduction \n9:30 Part One: Recognizing hate speech \n11:30 Part Two: Reacting to Hate Speech \n13:00 Break \n14:00 Part Three: Transforming Hate Speech \n3:30 Conclusion \n Snacks will be provided. \nSign up for the workshop via email info@mczos.si. DESCRIPTION:Dear *lesbians\,\nyou are invited to come and warm yourselves up at the second *Lesbian bar of the season! \nThis time our inspiration is the 50s and 60s lesbian scene. The title of our event comes from a book titled “Sin Girls”\, written by Marlene Longman. There is quite some lesbian literature from the era and that means quite some representation of women who were in relationships with women. A lot of times the cover\, title and even content of the book was decided by the editor or publishing house. Lesbian relationships were fetishized and marked as abnormal\, unholy and perverse. Our goal is like so many times before to take back this representation and tailor it in our own way. And also\, lez bi honest\, the outfit ideas are so good and so many. \nWe want to revive the energy that lesbian bars had at the time and celebrate the evolution of identities like butch and femme. We also want to remember the first *Lesbian bar event\, that happened in 2016 and had a similar historical theme\, focusing on the 20s and 30s. You can still lip-sync or do karaoke\, but also feel free to express other talents too! DESCRIPTION:“Faces of Pride”\nLjubljana Pride Association invites you to an exhibition organized by Marta Torres\, European Solidarity Corps volunteer at Ljubljana Pride Association. The exhibition will showcase the best work from Pride’s Festival 2019 photography team and their photos during the Pride parade day. \nWith the photographer Maša Gojić responsible for the team\, each member was offered the opportunity to develop and practice their photography skills before the festival started. DESCRIPTION:This year we will also finihed the year with the New Year’s office party! \n2019 was full of unforgettable moments\, events\, activities and achievements that are worth remembering\, so it is important that we toast with each other and have fun. \nThe party will also be thematically colored this year … namely\, you are all invited to dress in the “naughtiest clothes” with a festive touch; you can spice up with props\, clothes\, headgear\, shoes\, especially those that would be most happily worn at a so-called “naughty event”. \nWe will be preparing naughty spicy mulled wine and other naughty holiday beverages\, including cookies. The point on i will be provided by naughty music accompaniment! \nYou are also invited to join the secret gift bingo. Bring a small wrap gift\, attention\, wit\, creative naughtiness in the box with no greater monetary value. DESCRIPTION:Do we have any idea how is it to be a less privileged person? How society and LGBTQI+ community treats our sisters with different abilities? And how we can be more inclusive when it comes to people with different abilities? Neja Kolbl will be present at Pride office to eagerly give us the answers.\n\nThis event is also a follow-up activity about “Active Solidarity” project which took place in Greece and organized by Active Rainbow and Solidarity Mission\, funded by Erasmus+.\nWith ‘Pride Connects’\, we strive to connect the local LGBTIQ+ youth\, activists\, and all those interested in the political side of Pride(s) and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and across the world. \nWe know that being an openly LGBTIQ+ person and walking down any public space is a political act\, and we know it is not easy – so we want to create a safe(r) space for all LGBTIQ+ people and a place of empowerment.

SUMMARY:Delavnica: Zgrabimo sovražni govor za roge!
DESCRIPTION:Brezplačna delavnica naslavljanja sovražnega govora za vse\, ki delajo z mladimi. \nKultura sovraštva je zakoreninjena v vseh plasteh družbe\, šolska in mladinska okolja niso izjema. \nKot učiteljice_i\, mladinske_i delavke_ci\, mladinske_i voditeljice_i\, trenerke_ji\, aktivistke_i in strokovnjakinje_i nimamo zgolj moči\, ampak tudi odgovornost\, da se odzovemo na sovražni govor med mladimi. Vse »šale«\, komentarji\, kjer »mladi zgolj ponavljajo\, kar so slišali doma« in/ali ki »jih ne mislijo resno« utrjujejo družbene neenakosti\, ki izvirajo iz sistemov zatiranja. \nNeredko pa se na sovraštvo ne utegnemo odzvati\, saj nas skrbi načrtovan potek ure/dejavnosti ali pa ne vemo\, kako. Na delavnici se bomo posvetile_i izzivom prepoznavanja\, naslavljanja in transformacije sovražnega govora. \nDelile_i in raziskovale_i bomo strategije premagovanja sovražnega govora z uporabo transformativnih praks katerih namen ni zgolj preprečiti uporabe sovražnega govora v določenem okolju\, ampak sprožiti postopek transformacije z namenom preseganja sovraštva. \nDelavnica je namenjena vsem\, ki delajo z mladimi. \nProgram:\n10:00 Uvod\n10:30 Prvi del: Prepoznavanje sovražnega govora\n12:30 Drugi del: Reagiranje na sovražni govor\n14:00 Odmor\n15:00 Tretji del: Transformacija sovražnega govora\n16:30 Zaključek \nPoskrbljeno bo za prigrizke. \nNa delavnico se prijavite preko PRIJAVNICE TUKAJ \nRok za prijave je do 29. 11. 2019 oz. do zapolnitve prostih mest. \n(Dogodek bo potekal v slovenskem jeziku) \nDelavnica se izvaja v sodelovanju s Pekarno Magdalenske mreže v prostorih Infopeke. SUMMARY:Training for coordinators of volunteer organizations
DESCRIPTION:* Are you interested in how to involve young LGBTIQ + people in your organization’s work as volunteer coordinator? \n* Why is the statement “our organization is open to all” not sufficient? \n* What concrete steps can be taken to reach and attract volunteers with LGBTIQ + identities and make them feel included and accepted? \n* What is a safe space in the context of volunteering and what can you do to establish it? \nThen training is right for you! Training is free.\nYou can apply for the training through the application form. \nAPPLICATION FORM\nYoung LGBTIQ + people are at increased risk of social exclusion. Most organizations are not adequately equipped to work with LGBTIQ + youth\, although LGBTIQ + people (if they know it or not) are also among their volunteers. This is also indicated by the fact that LGBTIQ + youth are relatively rarely disclosed in leisure-time areas (such as youth centers or various youth activities) (less than 40% are fully disclosed). 14% of LGBTIQ + youth report that they sometimes or often fear for their safety in such spaces. Adding to the high percentages of peer violence\, discrimination\, and unacceptability of LGBTIQ + members\, it becomes clear that LGBTIQ + youth need an understanding and support addressing their specific needs when engaging in volunteering. \nFrom the perspective of LGBTIQ + people\, we will show you what we need for successful volunteering\, what kind of knowledge our coordinators need\, and how you can best support us. \nThe workshops are conducted by the pool of trainers of Ljubljana Pride. \nThe training is part of the project of volunteering for social participation and empowerment of LGBTIQ + young people\, funded by the Ministry of Public Administration.

SUMMARY:Screening of: 'Ruins - Chronicle of an HIV witch-hunt' 
DESCRIPTION:Due to World AIDS/HIV day being on December 1st\, we will screen a documentary about a shocking case of HIV criminalization in Greece. The story of the persecution of HIV-positive women who were detained by the Hellenic Police\, forcibly tested\, charged with a felony\, imprisoned and publicly exposed\, when their mug shots and personal data were published in the media in the run-up to the country’s 2012 national elections.
