At the event we will write the content of the flyers\, support that content with artivism and plan the design. We welcome everyone to creatively express themselves\, making your own feminist propaganda for the Eighth of March! We’ll also link our actions to the bigger picture and more long term plans of the Pride Connects calendar. Our goal is to organise an activist intervention on 8th March to commemorate International Women’s Day. Last week we thought about what our message should be. This week we continue and make more concrete plans. We will talk about what exactly we can and want to do\, what are the limitations we have\, and who do we want to connect with. SUMMARY:Workshop: Let's tackle Hate Speech!
DESCRIPTION:Free workshop on addressing hate speech for all who work with young people. \nSign up for the workshop via email info@mczos.si.\nHate culture can be found in all walks of life\, and school and youth environments are no exception. \nAs teachers\, youth workers\, youth leaders\, trainers\, activists and professionals\, we have not only the power but also the responsibility to respond to hate speech among young people. All “jokes”\, comments where young people merely “repeat what they heard at home” or “are not being serious” reinforce the social inequalities emanating from systems of oppression. \nOften\, however\, we cannot respond to hatred because we are concerned about our main responsibility to deliver an activity. Or sometimes\, we just don’t know how. \nThe workshop will address the challenges of recognizing\, addressing and transforming hate speech. \nWe will share and explore strategies for overcoming hate speech through the use of transformative practices designed not only to prevent the use of hate speech in a particular environment\, but to initiate a transformation process to overcome hate. \nThe workshop is for everyone who works with young people. \n Program: \n9:00 Introduction \n9:30 Part One: Recognizing hate speech \n11:30 Part Two: Reacting to Hate Speech \n13:00 Break \n14:00 Part Three: Transforming Hate Speech \n3:30 Conclusion \n Snacks will be provided. \nSign up for the workshop via email info@mczos.si. The deadline for applications is 24.1.2020.\n(The event will be in Slovenian) \nThe workshop is conducted in cooperation with the Zagorje Youth Center on Cesta on 9 August 48 in Zagorje ob Savi. Unfortunately the venue is not wheelchair accessible. \nThe workshop is part of the Erasmus + Youth in Action program and is a dissemination workshop for the Transformation of Hate Speech project in a youth environment.

DESCRIPTION:Dear *lesbians\,\nyou are invited to come and warm yourselves up at the second *Lesbian bar of the season! \nThis time our inspiration is the 50s and 60s lesbian scene. The title of our event comes from a book titled “Sin Girls”\, written by Marlene Longman. There is quite some lesbian literature from the era and that means quite some representation of women who were in relationships with women. A lot of times the cover\, title and even content of the book was decided by the editor or publishing house. Lesbian relationships were fetishized and marked as abnormal\, unholy and perverse. Our goal is like so many times before to take back this representation and tailor it in our own way. And also\, lez bi honest\, the outfit ideas are so good and so many. \nWe want to revive the energy that lesbian bars had at the time and celebrate the evolution of identities like butch and femme. We also want to remember the first *Lesbian bar event\, that happened in 2016 and had a similar historical theme\, focusing on the 20s and 30s. You can flip through some photos from the last one at the bar. \n*LESBIANS GOT TALENT! This season things are a bit different. You can still lip-sync or do karaoke\, but also feel free to express other talents too! The exhibition will showcase the best work from Pride’s Festival 2019 photography team and their photos during the Pride parade day. \nWith the photographer Maša Gojić responsible for the team\, each member was offered the opportunity to develop and practice their photography skills before the festival started. DESCRIPTION:Brezplačna delavnica naslavljanja sovražnega govora za vse\, ki delajo z mladimi. \nKultura sovraštva je zakoreninjena v vseh plasteh družbe\, šolska in mladinska okolja niso izjema. \nKot učiteljice_i\, mladinske_i delavke_ci\, mladinske_i voditeljice_i\, trenerke_ji\, aktivistke_i in strokovnjakinje_i nimamo zgolj moči\, ampak tudi odgovornost\, da se odzovemo na sovražni govor med mladimi. Vse »šale«\, komentarji\, kjer »mladi zgolj ponavljajo\, kar so slišali doma« in/ali ki »jih ne mislijo resno« utrjujejo družbene neenakosti\, ki izvirajo iz sistemov zatiranja. \nNeredko pa se na sovraštvo ne utegnemo odzvati\, saj nas skrbi načrtovan potek ure/dejavnosti ali pa ne vemo\, kako. DESCRIPTION:* Are you interested in how to involve young LGBTIQ + people in your organization’s work as volunteer coordinator? \n* Why is the statement “our organization is open to all” not sufficient? \n* What concrete steps can be taken to reach and attract volunteers with LGBTIQ + identities and make them feel included and accepted? \n* What is a safe space in the context of volunteering and what can you do to establish it? \nThen training is right for you! Training is free.\nYou can apply for the training through the application form. \nAPPLICATION FORM\nYoung LGBTIQ + people are at increased risk of social exclusion. Most organizations are not adequately equipped to work with LGBTIQ + youth\, although LGBTIQ + people (if they know it or not) are also among their volunteers. This is also indicated by the fact that LGBTIQ + youth are relatively rarely disclosed in leisure-time areas (such as youth centers or various youth activities) (less than 40% are fully disclosed). 14% of LGBTIQ + youth report that they sometimes or often fear for their safety in such spaces. Adding to the high percentages of peer violence\, discrimination\, and unacceptability of LGBTIQ + members\, it becomes clear that LGBTIQ + youth need an understanding and support addressing their specific needs when engaging in volunteering. \nFrom the perspective of LGBTIQ + people\, we will show you what we need for successful volunteering\, what kind of knowledge our coordinators need\, and how you can best support us. \nThe workshops are conducted by the pool of trainers of Ljubljana Pride. \nThe training is part of the project of volunteering for social participation and empowerment of LGBTIQ + young people\, funded by the Ministry of Public Administration.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Let's tackle Hate Speech!
DESCRIPTION:Workshop on tackling Hate Speech for those working with youth. \nWe kindly ask you to apply HERE \nThe culture of hate has crept deep into every pore of society\, school and youth settings are no exception. As youth teachers\, workers\, youth leaders\, trainers\, activists\, and experts\, we have not only the power\, but also the responsibility to respond to hate speech when it happens in a group of young people. All these “jokes” and comments where the young person “is just repeating what they learned at home” and/or “doesn’t mean it seriously” perpetuate social inequalities stemming from the systems of oppression. \nQuite often\, though\, we are unable to invest the time to respond to hate\, either because we are burdened with the planned outcomes of the activities\, or because we simply do not know how to. This workshop strives to tackle issues of recognising\, managing and transforming hate speech and/or behavior. We will share and explore the possibilities of overcoming hate speech via the use of transformative practices. It introduces practices that aim not only to react to hate speech that only causes the person to abstain from using the hate speech in that particular environment\, but to start a process of transformation in order to overcome the hate itself. \nThe workshop is open to everyone who works with young people. \nWe kindly ask you to apply HERE \n(Event will be held in Slovenian language) \nThe workshop will be implemented by the programme Erasmus+ Youth in action Programme. SUMMARY:Support Person - Assistance in emotional or mental distress
DESCRIPTION:October 10 marks World Mental Health Day\, which aims to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health issues. When it comes to supporting people in emotional or mental distress\, we often forget how crucial the role of communities and support persons is for people in need. The LGBT community is one of the most vulnerable social groups when it comes to mental health\, however\, we are still lacking awareness and knowledge on prevention and appropriate support systems that we can provide for each other as a community. \nIn this workshop we will address the concept of a support person and explore ways of supporting and assisting people in emotional or mental distress. How to approach a friend you care about\, how to offer support to someone who is struggling with depression\, anxiety or panic attacks? Which words to choose\, how to offer help? How to ensure the personal integrity of a person in need\, how to empower them? Answers to all questions above (and any other) will be sought during the workshop. Welcome all who are interested in the topic. And please invite anyone else you think could benefit from the event. ? \nThe workshop will be led by Vesna Štefanec\, a social pedagogue who has been working on topics related to the LGBT community and counseling for LGBT people for almost a decade. DESCRIPTION:Dear *lesbians\,\nAutumn is here which means the *Lesbian bar is reopening its doors! \nWe are starting the season with the theme of The L Word\, iconic show whose lesbian drama is a topic of discussions in bars since 2004. And now\, while expecting the new season\, we are remembering and answering the always relevant questions. Which one is your favorite? Which one annoys you the most? Are you team Shane or team Papi? Who killed Jenny? Can Alice be a bisexual in peace\, without someone questioning her sexuality? \n*LESBIANS GOT TALENT! This season things are a bit different. You can still sing karaoke or “sing” lip-sync and besides that you have the opportunity to express your other talents. Read a poetry\, play an instrument\, do a stand-up performance\, perform an expressive dance… \n*Lesbian talents are infinite so we invite you to apply and share yours with the audience.
