DESCRIPTION:Join us on Women’s day\, March 8\, when we will unite in the fight of all women for social\, economic and political rights. This is the day to raise our voices\, express our dissent and fight against capitalism and patriarchy. It’s the day we protest and shout: “Enough is enough!” \nOn March 8\, 2024\, at 3:30 p.m.\, we will get together at Dunajska 10 (the office of Ljubljana Parade Association) and walk together to Congress square\, where we will join the protest of Društvo Iskra. \nOn this year’s March 8\, we reflect on the struggle and suffering of women in colonized countries\, we show hatred towards their exploiters and we are inspired by their achievements. The issue of freedom concerns us all. Either all women are free\, or none! \nWomen’s work is not inferior\, women’s work is important! Women’s work is valued less simply because of their gender. Enough of double exploitation! We demand recognition of women’s reproductive work and demand decent pay for it. Above all\, we call for a welfare state that will transfer this work from the burdens of individuals to the hands of the community. \nEnough of all forms of exploitation and oppression! Enough of precarity and poverty! Enough discrimination\, violence and wars! \nStand with us and shout: ‘’Enough is enough!’’

O čem bo tekla beseda?\nAli veš\, da je evropsko pravo nad vsemi nacionalnimi zakoni in da tvoj glas neposredno vpliva na realnost 27 držav? Ali da želijo nekatere_i kandidatke_i namerno kršiti temeljne človekove pravice in omejevati dostop do le teh v vsej Evropski uniji? Na našem dogodku bomo predstavile_i pogled\, vizijo in obljube skupin Evropskega parlamenta in njihov pomen za naše pravice.\nNa začetku bomo predstavile_i pregled političnih skupin Evropskega parlamenta in njihove poglede na človekove pravice in sprejemanje LGBTIQ+ skupnosti. Spoznali bomo tudi njihova prizadevanja\, cilje in dosežke na področju enakosti in spoštovanja različnosti.  Razglabljale_i bomo o tem\, zakaj je glasovanje na volitvah v Evropski parlament leta 2024 bistvenega pomena za zagotavljanje osnovnih človekovih pravic v Evropi\, ter o tem\, kako lahko politične odločitve neposredno vplivajo na varstvo temeljnih človekovih pravic. \n\nZa konec smo pripravile_i še interaktivni kviz\, najboljše_i 3 pa bodo prejele_i posebne nagrade! Kot vedno prigrizke in pijačo častimo me_i. \n\nKoper\, se vidimo kmalu!

DESCRIPTION:Ever found yourself stuck in a problem with no clear way out in your daily life?  Join our next event and unlock the secrets of alternative conflict resolution and dive into the world of mediation\n\n \nIn this activity\, we will create group dynamics where we’ll toss you into carefully crafted and fake scenarios\, covering LGBTIQ+\, multicultural or even familiar situations. After dividing the participants into small groups\, each person will become a character in this role-playing adventure\, having to improvise how the conflict works. One or more people will be the mediator of the group\, and they will have to reach an agreement that both sides will agree on\n\nNo need to be an expert on conflict resolution or improv\, everything will be carefully explained in the activity and the main goal is for you to have fun!! DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the next Pride Connects activity\, Queer-EUtopia\, where we will continue the topic and approach of the previous one: imagine how it would look like an utopian society for LGBTIQ+ people. \nHowever\, the ideas that we will discuss will be brand new\, so don’t be afraid to come for the first time! \nThis activity is included in the ‘Pride Connects’ program\, and our main goal is to foster connections among the local LGBTIQ+ youth\, activists and individuals passionate about the political aspects of Pride and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and worldwide\, as well as establish a safer space for all members of the LGBTIQ+ community\, offering a platform for empowerment and support. \nFor ‘Queer-EUtopia’\, we will focus more around the European Union. The activity will consist of making a collage about an European Union in which\, thanks to the political participation of citizens\, an utopian society has been achieved for LGBTIQ+ people by the year 2050. By reflecting on this topic\, we will highlight the importance of the European Parliament Elections in 2024 and the political involvement of the citizens in the fight for LGBTIQ+ rights in a non-formal way. \nThis activity is co-funded by the European Union and by the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth.

SUMMARY:International training: Inclusive Organisations
DESCRIPTION:Between 25th of September and 1st of October\, we are hosting an international training course during which we will further develop a certification scheme for inclusive organizations. \nWhat does that mean? \nAll over Europe\, we have countless organizations\, associations\, institutes\, youth centers\, public offices… that are supposed to be open to all (young) people\, regardless of their personal circumstances\, such as LGBTIQ+ identity\, origin\, skin color… But in practice it turns out that\, unfortunately\, if we just think that we are inclusive for all\, it does not mean that we are actually inclusive for all. \nTogether with international partners from Spain\, Austria and Italy Ljubljana Pride Association is developing a certification scheme for organizations that want to work on becoming (more) inclusive. We are developing both the model itself\, the steps how an organization can join it\, what it needs do\, training modules for organizations\, as well as what organizations get from it… All this and much more is the subject of the training. \nSo\, what will be the result? \nMore on that in October.

DESCRIPTION:ADVOCACY? \nWhat exactly is advocacy? How should our association tackle it? What changes are we fighting for that can be achieved through advocacy activities? \nAt Ljubljana Pride Association\, we have invested a lot of effort and work in recent years in strategic development\, professionalization of the organization\, development of new expert programs… now the time has come when we will reach towards the next step – more systematic work for change at the political and legislative level. And of course\, first of all we have to learn new approaches and gain knowledge so that we can really achieve lasting impact and change. \nThus\, between September 20 and 22\, the entire team of the association will embark on a three-day intensive advocacy training. The key achievement we are striving for is the development of the advocacy strategy of the SQVOT program – a program for reducing the consequences of minority stress. \nThe training and strategic development in the field of advocacy is made possible by the financial support of ILGA Europe and its program No One Left Behind.

DESCRIPTION:Hey! \n‌In the next SQVOT Living Room\, we will try out our skills as gardeners! 🧑‍🌾 Spring is waking up and we will use this time to plant and sow our own plants. 🌱 We will also paint and decorate flower pots. 🪴 \n‌We will try to provide as many pots as possible for decorating\, but we recommend that you bring some of your own just in case. \n‌If you also can’t wait to get your hands dirty\, join us for our next SQVOT Living Room on Monday\, 17 April 2023\, between 5 and 8pm at Monokel in Metelkova. \nSee you there! \n___ \nThe Living Room opens its doors every second Monday at the Monokel club in Ljubljana’s Metelkova district\, where we hang out between 5 and 8 pm. At every meeting there is a person from the SQVOT programme\, who makes the room even safer and has a lot of information about the programme and the services we offer. \nSQVOT Living Room is a place for every young LGBTIQ+ person\, who: \n\nyearns for community!\nwants to address different topics\, spend time among cool folk and meet new friends!\nmisses a safe space where they can spend their free time!\nwants a place to talk about housing exclusion\, mental health\, life and anything else that interests them.\n\nThe event is financed by the European Union.
