SUMMARY:Consultation for the New Youth Strategy of the Municipality of Ljubljana 2026-2035
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, October 14\, 2025\, the Ljubljana Pride is organizing an expert consultation of LGBTIQ+ youth for the new Youth Strategy of the City of Ljubljana (MOL) 2026–2035\, which will take place between 9:00 and 15:30 in the Red Hall of the City Hall. \nThe event will be held in the Slovenian language. \nApplication form: Application for the LGBTIQ+ youth consultation for the new Youth Strategy of the Municipality of Ljubljana 2026-2035 \nApplication deadline: October 10\, 2025 \nThe year 2025 is the year of the conclusion of the current Youth Strategy of the City of Ljubljana and at the same time the time when a new strategy for the period 2026–2035 is being prepared. The expert consultation is intended to include the voices of all young people in the discussion on the future of youth policies in Ljubljana\, with a special emphasis on LGBTIQ+ youth\, who represent almost 40% of the youth population in the city (Youth 2020)\, and on organizations that work directly with them. \nThe event will enable participants to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and experiences of LGBTIQ+ youth\, exchange good practices and perspectives\, and build cross-sectoral connections between youth organizations and decision-makers in the City of Ljubljana. \nPreliminary program of the conference: \n\n9.00 Registration\n9.30 Introduction and welcoming speeches\n10.00 Presentation of research and experiences of working with LGBTIQ+ youth in the Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL)\n10.45 Presentation of the Youth Strategy of the City of Ljubljana 2026–2035\n11.15 Break\n11.30 World Café: Areas of the Strategy and LGBTIQ+ Youth in the City of Ljubljana\n13.00 Lunch\n13.45 Introduction to the dialogue with youth\n14.00 Dialogue of LGBTIQ+ youth with decision-makers and stakeholders in the City of Ljubljana by thematic areas\n15.00 Presentation of conclusions and next steps\n15.15 Conclusion of the conference and evaluation\n15.30 End and departure\n\nThe morning part will include two presentations: past research on the needs of LGBTIQ+ youth and the new Youth Strategy\, which we will get to know through the presentation of its key areas\, with additional emphasis on the LGBTIQ+ perspective youth. \nThe afternoon session will be dedicated to active dialogue\, where LGBTIQ+ youth\, in collaboration with decision-makers from the City of Ljubljana and youth organizations\, will discuss key thematic areas of the strategy. Participants will be able to directly share their experiences and perspectives. For this reason\, we especially invite all of you who work with LGBTIQ+ youth to invite LGBTIQ+ youth with whom you are in contact to participate. We ask that you register and join us for the entire consultation or at least for lunch and the afternoon session\, where you will have the opportunity to express your comments and opinions in smaller thematic groups\, in accordance with your interests. \nThe consultation will conclude with an evaluation and an opportunity for joint reflection\, with the emphasis on how the perspectives and experiences gained can contribute to understanding the needs of LGBTIQ+ youth and strengthening an inclusive youth space in Ljubljana. \nYou are invited to join us and with your presence support a broader understanding of the needs of LGBTIQ+ youth and the building of connections between youth actors. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact mateja@ljubljanapride.org. \nThe activity was supported by the City of Ljubljana.
