SUMMARY:Transforming hate speech: Presentation
DESCRIPTION:The Pride Parade Asociation invites you to the public event “Transforming Hate Speech”\, on Friday\, March 22\, between 9.30 and 16.00 in the EU House on Dunajska 20\, Ljubljana. \nDuring the event\, we will launch specific tools to offer support and guidance to youth workers for identifying and responding to the occurrence of hate speech when working with young people in Slovenia. \nWe will present a manual that offers an overview of different approaches to identifying\, addressing and transforming hate speech in youth work. We will launch an online platform with additional information on addressing hate speech and present an international pool of trainers in non-formal education\, consisting of people who have experienced hate speech and other forms of violence on the basis of their marginalized identities. \nAfter the introductory presentations\, there will be a panel discussion\, titled “Facing opposition to anti-hate speech in Slovenia”. \nIn the afternoon\, the programme will consist of interactive workshops\, implemented by the international team of trainers who participated in the project. Workshops are intended for everyone working with groups of young people or interested in the topic. We will present methods for recognizing\, addressing and transforming hate speech in youth educational activities. \nPresentations and discussions will be held in Slovene with the possibility of simultaneous translation to English.
