This not only enhances your experience but also ensures safety in numbers. Be mindful of the first aid kit, at least one person in the group should have it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>STAY AWARE:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pay attention to your surroundings. Be aware of where you are and who is around you. Trust your instincts\u2014if something feels suspicious, it\u2019s okay to remove yourself from the situation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>PLAN AHEAD:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Familiarize yourself with the event schedule, the parade route, including entrances, exits, and the procession path. Knowing your surroundings can help you react quickly in an emergency.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>STAY HYDRATED:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pride events can be long and crowded, so drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated, especially if it\u2019s hot outside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>CHARGE YOUR DEVICES:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Make sure your phone is fully charged before leaving. Consider bringing a portable charger to keep your phone powered in case you need to contact someone in an emergency.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SAVE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> emergency numbers for the police (113) and emergency medical assistance (112) on your mobile phone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SET MEETING POINTS:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you\u2019re going to Pride with a group, set meeting points and times throughout the day. This way, you\u2019ll have a plan to regroup if you get separated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>KEEP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in constant contact with people who are not at the parade, informing them about what\u2019s happening.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>PROTECT <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your valuables: Keep your belongings secure. Consider using a crossbody bag or a secure pocket to prevent theft. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or unnecessary valuables.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>KNOW <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your limits: Moderate your alcohol and substance intake. Heat combined with alcohol or substances can be deadly. It\u2019s important to know and respect your limits to stay safe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>PROTECT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> yourself from the sun: If the event is outdoors, protect yourself from the sun by wearing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Consider bringing an umbrella or finding shaded areas to avoid sunburn or overheating.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>TRUST <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your community: Pride is about celebrating and supporting each other. Don\u2019t hesitate to reach out to event staff, volunteers, or other attendees if you need help or support.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>DURING THE PARADE<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>WALK <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a group: Participating with a group can enhance the experience and provide more safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>STAY <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in touch with the person or people you agreed to stay in touch with: Mutual trust and accountability are the best guarantees for a pleasant parade day.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>AVOID <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conflicts and confrontations: Stay calm and don\u2019t respond to provocations, as provokers want just that.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>AVOID <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">engaging in or participating in any violent acts: The parade is meant for peaceful celebration of diversity and fighting for our rights \u2013 violent acts by participants undermine our efforts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>DOCUMENT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> abuses if you see any from a safe distance. Mutual support within the community is important, so if you see someone in trouble, help them to the best of your ability while staying safe \u2013 report the attack\/incident to the police (call 113) and stay on the scene as a witness; you can record or photograph the attack\/incident and provide the material to the police. Provide first aid to the person and call 112 if medical care is needed. Contact the Ljubljana Pride Association\u2019s Safe Point and report the incident.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>STAY AWARE <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of what\u2019s happening around you: This is the best way to ensure you can make the best decisions for yourself at the given moment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>CLOSE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> applications you\u2019re not using, as they consume battery even in the background.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>INFORM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> your companions and contact persons if you have any problems or if you stop somewhere.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>AFTER THE PARADE<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>RETURN <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with others to a point from where you can safely start your journey home: If you leave the secured area, try not to be alone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>TELL<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> someone when you get home or to a safe place.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>KEEP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> original photos or videos as legal evidence if you think you\u2019ll need them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SHARE<\/b><span> what you think is safe and positive to share.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;2. Emergencies&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emergency Call<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The emergency numbers are the single European emergency number 112 or the police number 113.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Emergency Call <\/b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.policija.si\/eng\/contacts\/police-emergency-telephone-number-113\"><b>113 &#8211; POLICE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">113 is the police emergency number, intended for reporting breaches of public order, traffic accidents, and criminal acts, that is, when people urgently need help or immediate police intervention. The police officers receiving the call can immediately dispatch an appropriate police patrol to the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call 113 if:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are a victim or witness of a criminal act,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You think your peace is disturbed,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You believe the police can ensure your safety in another way (you feel threatened and in danger of being harmed in the future).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enable the police to act as quickly as possible, provide them with precise details, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What happened (e.g., traffic accident, criminal act, fight),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where it happened (location, type of road, e.g., highway, direction of travel, proximity to prominent landmarks),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it happened (did you come across the event or are you a participant),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether anyone is injured, the number of participants (vehicles, people),<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other information that would help ensure the safety of the reporter and other citizens.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also report any criminal act to the anonymous police hotline at <\/span><b>080 1200<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Emergency Call 112 \u2013 EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you need urgent medical assistance, help from firefighters, or (also) the police.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you call 112, say:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who is calling.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What happened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where it happened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it happened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How many casualties there are.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What the injuries are.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What the circumstances are at the scene (fire, hazardous substances, damaged gas or other pipelines).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What kind of help you need.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Emergency SMS Call<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Text emergency call 112 is intended primarily for deaf and hard-of-hearing people. You can trigger it from any GSM mobile phone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you send a text emergency call SMS:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter what happened in the message field.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write the type of assistance you need (medical help, firefighters, police).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the entered data, correct them if necessary, and send.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sent text call is displayed on a computer at the nearest Notification Center. Upon receiving the call, the operator sees the forwarded message and the approximate location of the sender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operator responds in writing to your emergency call. His response or additional questions are displayed on the screen of your phone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can respond to the received message, send additional information, or end it. The operator can also end the call.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;3. Crime Report&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Article 146 of the Criminal Procedure Act (ZKP), anyone can report a criminal act or file a complaint. Criminal acts are defined and specified in the Penal Code of the Republic of Slovenia (KZ-1).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can file a complaint at any time at any police station or police department, where work or duty is usually organized and operates 24 hours a day. You can also file a complaint at any time (24 hours a day) by calling 113 or other telephone numbers of police units available in the publicly published telephone directory of Telekom Slovenije and on the police website. You can also file a complaint with the police in writing and electronically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IMPORTANT: The primary points for receiving incident reports on the day of the Pride Parade are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ljubljana Center Police Station, Trdinova 10, Ljubljana &#8211; all the time<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mobile Police Unit on Vegova Street in the center of Ljubljana &#8211; 16.00 &#8211; 23.00<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>SAFE POINTS OF THE LJUBLJANA PRIDE ASSOCIATION:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> On parade day, there will also be SAFE PERSONS available to physically help you file a report with the police. You will find them at special points organized this year:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10.00 &#8211; 16.00 at Parade Village &#8211; Park Zvezda<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">17.00 &#8211; 19.00 at Metelkova (during the gathering for the parade and the march)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">19.00 &#8211; 23.00 at Congress Square (during the program)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">23.00 &#8211; 05.00 at Metelkova (during the Pride After-party)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will recognize them by their white T-shirts with the inscription VARNA OSEBA (a safe person), but you can also ask for help at the information stand of the Ljubljana Pride Association at Parade Village, where one of the safe persons will also be present.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can read more about the process of reporting a criminal act to the police on the <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.policija.si\/o-slovenski-policiji\/informacije-javnega-znacaja\/katalog-ijz\/prijava-kaznivega-dejanja-policiji\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">police website<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (in Slovenian only).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The police also allow anonymous reporting of other violations or criminal acts (sexual violence, domestic violence, etc.). The raid procedure was the following: close premises, place visitors in a row, arrest men dressed in women's clothes, verify their identity.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But that raid turned out otherwise. The bar patrons who were released and by-standers gathered in crowds in front of the bar and the confrontation of the arrested patrons with the police created a riot.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This marks one of the first uprisings of the LGBT community and its supporters against police violence. In the following years, the number of activists who celebrated the memory of these events grew. On 8 June 2001, the poets Brane Mozeti\u010d and Jean-Paul Daoust were prevented from entering the caf\u00e9 with the explanation that they are not welcome there because of their sexual orientation. After the goverment did not condemn the act, people gathered and started the a protest. Over the next few Fridays, they would meet in a cafe, occupy vacant tables, order mineral water and drink it as slowly as possible with the goal of reducing the owner's profit.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A month later, the protest was followed by demonstration \u201cBypass against intolerance\u201d organised by LGBT activists and supporters.
