On Monday 24th March Ljubljana Pride will host a skillbuilding workshop on ‘Exploring and Deconstructing Biases in the LGBTIQ+ Community’
The purpose of the workshop will be to explore and understand the concepts of prejudice, stereotype, and discrimination, and to reflect on personal experiences related to these concepts and their connection to the LGBTIQ+ community
Through this workshop participants will:
Understand the definitions of prejudice, stereotype and discrimination and learn how to differentiate them
Learn to identify categories that cause societal divisions and understand their impact
Reflect on personal experiences of being stereotyped or stereotyping others, with an emphasis on being part of the LGBTIQ+ community
Develop strategies to counteract biases and promote inclusivity, with an emphasis on the LGBTIQ+ community
This workshop will be an introduction to this broad topic and no prior knowledge or experience is needed – so everyone is welcome! Particularly members of the LGBTIQ+ community and allies, people who work / want to work with young people and marginalised groups, activists and anyone who is interested in the topic!
