Pride Connects: Queer & Green Urban Places
26. April 2022 od 17:00–19:00
Where do you feel good, open, relaxed, unjudged?
What makes you feel safe? What makes a space safer?
What makes you feel safe? What makes a space safer?
There are many reasons that contribute to the feeling of secureness and openness – this time we will focus on the space, and with your help, try to find out how the physical surroundings shape our perception and mental wellbeing.
Especially for us, young LGBTIQ+ people being out and queer in open spaces, situations can quickly turn into insecure and intimidating. That’s why we need to create spaces in which we can feel safe, are unconditionally accepted and can share our experiences. Those spaces create community and lead to self empowerment.
On next Pride Connects we want to change Ljubljana Pride’s surroundings into an even more green and safer space. Together we will take the first steps in planting an outside garden and building seatings out of old wood and pallets in our backyard. While crafting we will chat about the upcoming elections and compare parties programmes to our vision of greener and safer spaces.
We invite you to join us and share your ideas of what your favorite safe and green space would look like.
The event will take place on the 8th of November at 6 pm at Dunajska 10. The space is wheelchair accessible.
The event will be held in English.
At the event, we will take into account all applicable measures to contain the epidemic.
We know that being an openly LGBTIQ+ person and existing in any public space is a political act, and we know it is not easy – so we want to create a safe(r) space for all LGBTIQ+ people and a place of empowerment.
