Exhibition: The Colours of Homelessness
Organised by: Pride Parade Association, Initiative for fighting LGBTIQ+ homelessness, City of Ljubljana
Language: Slovenian
The exhibition titled The Colours of Homelessness addresses the often overlooked but increasingly pressing issue of homelessness and housing deprivation within LGBTIQ+ youth.
The exhibition consists of two separate but connected elements. The first part comprises infographics that present, in a creative and accessible way, the results of a research project carried out by Ljubljana Pride Association. This was the first piece of research into LGBTIQ+ youth homelessness and housing deprivation in Slovenia and it includes the experiences of young LGBTIQ+ people as well as LGBTIQ+ and homelessness service providers.
The second part of the exhibition is composed of artworks by four young LGBTIQ+ people, representing their own lived experiences with homelessness and housing deprivation through various artistic media. By sharing their stories, the artists offer a personal perspective into the wider overarching theme.
