Study Visit and Attendance at the ILGA-Europe Conference in Dublin

Last week, part of the Ljubljana Pride team participated in a study visit in Ireland. Over the course of a week, we spent time getting to know different Irish organisations, LGBTIQ+ spaces and activities – supported by our hosting organisation TENI.

We discussed the role of the LGBTIQ+ organisations in protection of the core democratic principles and structures, brought up the topics of climate justice and its intersection with LGBTIQ+ movement, reflected communication strategies, planned new projects, and got to know the Irish (LGBTIQ+ and youth) context a bit better.

We also managed to re-connect with INAR, with whom we, among others, co-developed DecontRamination app for monitoring hate speech in public spaces and later worked on the concept of inclusive volunteering as well as our previous ESC volunteer Masar 🙂

Because there were 2 big international events happening in Dublin during our stay – high level conference and ILGA-Europe annual conference, we have also managed to connect with a wider spectrum of organisations and present our work.

Thank you TENI for supporting us with the organisation of this study visit, and for allowing us to get to know, connect and explore Irish LGBTIQ+ realities!

Activity is financed by the European Union.
