12 months LGBTIQ+ volunteering opportunity: Youth programme co-creator
Ljubljana Pride Association is looking for a 12 months volunteer for an ESC (European Solidarity Corps) project!

PARTICIPANT PROFILE
You’re an LGBTIQ+ young person aged between 18 and 30 years old. You are a resident of the EU and you have a strong interest in LGBTIQ+ organisations, topics and politics. You have previous work or volunteer experience in the field of LGBTIQ+ event organising. You are responsible, have a proactive attitude and take self initiative. You are comfortable with working in office environments and having an office routine. You are also able to occasionally work in the field, on the weekends or in the evenings. You are communicative, outgoing and enthusiastic about working with LGBTIQ+ youth – your peers. You are able to fluently communicate and express yourself in English.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
You will work in a team of queer people and get to know the Slovenian LGBTIQ+ community while designing, organising and implementing activities and events for LGBTIQ+ youth.
Your responsibilities:
– Support the organisation and implementation of bi-weekly events for young LGBTIQ+ activists on topics such as sustainability (DIY workshops), queerness, active citizenship and activism;
– Support the organisation and implementation of activities and actions on important issues / dates, such as mobilising for commemoration days, for example IDAHOBIT;
– Support the organisation and implementation of networking events for the LGBTIQ+ community;
– Supporting the implementation of activities that are part of the programme of the Ljubljana Pride festival 2023;
– Support with day-to-day operations in the office (logistical and administrative support).
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The project includes:
– Fully funded travel and accommodation;
– Covered food expenses and pocket money;
– Mentoring and Youthpass certificate at the end of the activity;
– Health insurance for non-Slovene residents;
– Language support.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
– You will be included in the daily work and activities of the association;
– You will be supported by a working coordinator and a personal mentor;
– The work will be mainly carried out in the office or in the field;
– During your activity, you will participate in an on-arrival and mid-term training organised by the national agency, where you will get to meet the other ESC volunteers in Slovenia.
