In 2017, Pride Parade Association carried out extensive research among LGBTIQ+ youth between 16 and 30 years of age. The research was carried out as part of a project of structured dialogue and focused on young people’s experience with violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Recently, we published the research results along with other important conclusions in a publication.
The publication represent an important step in youth work and youth politics towards proving to relevant stakeholders that LGBTIQ+ youth in Slovenia often live marginalized and precarious lives. It presents their experiences with homophobia, violence and discrimination based on their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, as well as their suggestions for possible solutions.
You are kindly invited to join us on Friday, November 30th, at 10am at Ministry for Education, Science and Sport on Kotnikova 38 (conference room 503/504 on the 5th floor) for the presentation of the publication “Everyday life of LGBTIQ+ youth in Slovenia, or: ‘Having my fucking rights!’”
The publication will be presented by authors Simona Muršec, president of Pride Parade Association, Nina Perger, Young Researcher at Faculty of Social Sciences, and Vesna Štefanec, social pedagogue and youth worker in the LGBTIQ+ field.
