International Family Equality Day takes place every year on the first Sunday in May to celebrate the diversity of LGBTIQ+ families around the world.

More and more children are growing up in families where one or both of their parents identify as LGBTIQ+. Nonetheless, rainbow families can’t enjoy equal rights and social recognition in many countries.

We are more than obliged to raise awareness among politicians and the general public about the need for equal treatment and recognition for all families, regardless of the sexual orientation or gender identity of their family’s members.

Let’s bring visibility to family diversity because what makes a family is love.
