Pride connects // Intersectional and Inclusive Feminism
For this week’s Pride Connects, join us for a presentation and a discussion about intersectional and inclusive feminism. Our guests will be Olena Semenova, an LGBTIQ+ activist from Ukraine, and Michelle Emson, a film director and trans activist from Canada.
Together, we will ask ourselves: Does LGBTIQ+ movement need feminism at all? What is inclusivity and what are the points of intersectionality in feminism in terms of LGBTIQ+ topics and communities? How does exclusive feminism influence the LGBTIQ+ movement? How can inclusiveness help both movements to succeed?
Exclusion is driven by fear and power, inclusion is driven by love and respect. Which do you prefer?
The event will be held in English.
With ‘PRIDE CONNECTS’, we strive to connect the local LGBTIQ+ youth, activists, and all those interested in the political side of Pride(s) and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and across the world. We know that being an openly LGBTIQ+ person and walking down any public space is a political act, and we know it is not easy – so we want to create a safe(r) space for all LGBTIQ+ people and a place of empowerment.
