Due to World AIDS/HIV day being on December 1st, we will screen a documentary about a shocking case of HIV criminalization in Greece. The story of the persecution of HIV-positive women who were detained by the Hellenic Police, forcibly tested, charged with a felony, imprisoned and publicly exposed, when their mug shots and personal data were published in the media in the run-up to the country’s 2012 national elections. After-film discussion via video call will follow with the director, Zoe Mavroudi.
With ‘Pride Connects’, we strive to connect the local LGBTIQ+ youth, activists, and all those interested in the political side of Pride(s) and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and across the world.
We know that being an openly LGBTIQ+ person and walking down any public space is a political act, and we know it is not easy – so we want to create a safe(r) space for all LGBTIQ+ people and a place of empowerment.
