Last Friday, we organised our traditional Thank You for the Pride event, where, after a busy Pride season and the summer break, we gather everyone who helped with the implementation of the Pride Festival to raise a toast to the successful festival and parade, socialise a little, and strengthen our connections. We are happy to report all of that happened last Friday!
But that’s not all: the evening began with an extraordinary general assembly, during which we approved changes to the statute (and listened to the story of a very meticulous administrative worker), celebrated four summer birthdays (our Nika, Ivan, Miki, and Mateja) and presented certificates to the volunteers and partners present at the event.
Our mini lexicons, prepared by our team as small DIY gifts for participants, also came to life: for a moment, everyone quietly and thoughtfully filled them in. They turned out to be a shorter, writing-focused version of speed friending (perhaps even dating, time will tell :)). Most importantly, we are proud and delighted by the tremendous turnout: we counted over 40 people on Friday, which represents roughly a third of all those who helped with this year’s festival, the vast majority being volunteers.
We are also pleased that people who helped across various areas participated: from the stage, parade day, photographers, safe persons, to our safety people…
